Des sons spectaculaires

Après plusieurs années de recherche et d'étude sur le chant oriental contemporain parallèlement à son implication dans des groupes engagées tels que "Arjass et Hamasset", des expériences musicales pour le théâtre et le cinéma ou encore des collaborations avec des artistes de renommée comme le jazzman Billy Paul ou la jazzwoman Martina Langis, Mohamed Ben Slama lance son premier album "Zad Almaad" en 2010 suite à une résidence artistique réalisée dans le cadre d'un programme de l'UNESCO. A partir de 2013, Mohamed Ben Slama entame une carrière solo accompagnée de musiciens polyvalents. Il se produit dans des festivals à l’échelle internationale et nationale tels que The Festival Africain Dream, Le théâtre royal de Liverpool, le festival international de Dougga avec le poète Sghaier Ouled Hmed, le festival international de Tataouine, festival de la Médina, festival international de Tabarka et tant d'autres scènes qui ont touché un public assez large par l’exotisme d’une Tunisie profonde autre que celle du patrimoine musical reconnu.
L’année 2016 fut l’année de l’exode vers l’international. Ainsi, après un spectacle mémorable lors de la compétition officielle des Journées musicales de Carthage, Mohamed Ben Slama entreprend une nouvelle approche identitaire aussitôt avec un spectacle accompagné par l’orchestre Serbe Dana Pavlovic à Belgrade, puis une odyssée dans les villes balkaniques suivie d’une tournée Maroco-Tunisienne sous le nom de « Stambaba Gnaoui » soutenue par «Africa Art Line» et le centre des musiques actuelles « Le Boultek » de Casablanca.
En Aout 2016, il fait une tournée au Canada accompagnée par les Solidground Orchestra. Grâce aux échanges multiculturels et dès son retour en Tunisie Mohamed Ben Slama se met à travailler sur un album et un spectacle encore plus érudit puisant dans la richesse du patrimoine musical et culturel tunisien.
Après «Zad Almaad» et «L’épopée de Daghbagi» Mohamed Ben Slama présente son troisième Album intitulé « Ahna » en invitant des musiciens érudites parmi lesquels le mythe vivant de la musique Mezoued « Salah Elfarzit »
« Ahna » porte le même titre que son spectacle vivant, un spectacle visuel, une odyssée mélangeant la musique Jazz et le Stambeli « musique locale des genres », un exode qui s’étend de Tunis jusqu’à Tombouctou en passant par « El Banga de Nefta » et le Issaoua à Timimoun. C’est une aventure dont la route est tracée entre le Maghreb et l’Afrique Subsaharienne.

Music is my passion

After several years of research and study on contemporary oriental singing alongside his committed groups such as "Arjass and Hamasset". He went through musical experiences on theatre and cinema in collaboration with renowned artists such as the jazzman Billy Paul or jazzwoman Martina Langis, Mohamed Ben Slama released his first album "Zad Almaad" in 2010 following an artistic residency as part of a UNESCO program. From 2013, Mohamed Ben Slama began a solo career accompanied by versatile musicians. He performs in international and national festivals such as The African Dream Festival, Liverpool Royal Theater, Dougga International Festival with poet Sghaier Ouled Hmed, International Festival of Tataouine, Medina Festival, Festival Tabarka International and so many other scenes that have touched a wide audience by the exoticism of a deep Tunisia other than that of the recognized musical heritage.
The year 2016 was the year of the exodus to the international. Thus, after a memorable performance at the official competition of the Carthage Music Days, Mohamed Ben Slama undertakes a new identity approach immediately with a performance accompanied by the Serbian orchestra Dana Pavlovic in Belgrade. Then an odyssey in the Balkan cities followed by a Moroccan-Tunisian tour under the name of "Stambaba Gnaoui" supported by "Africa Art Line" and the current music center "Le Boultek" of Casablanca.
In August 2016, he toured Canada accompanied by the Solidground Orchestra. Thanks to the multicultural exchanges and on his return to Tunisia, Mohamed Ben Slama began to work on an album and an even more erudite spectacle drawing on the wealth of Tunisian musical and cultural heritage.
After "Zad Almaad" and "The Epic of Daghbagi" Mohamed Ben Slama presents his third Album entitled "Ahna" by inviting erudite musicians among whom the living myth of music Mezoued "Salah Elfarzit"
"Ahna" bears the same title as its live performance, a visual spectacle, an odyssey mixing Jazz music and Stambeli "local music genres", an exodus that extends from Tunis to Timbuktu through "El Banga from Nefta "and Issaoua to Timimoun. It is an adventure whose route is traced between the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan Africa.
